Graded & vocational Examinations

I-PATH provides a range of dance and theatre exams, both Ofqual-regulated and independently-regulated. Member teachers get free access to a wealth of resources, including syllabuses, programmes of studies, demonstration videos, and more.

Teachers can use these resources to learn and teach the grades to their students, who can then take exams in three formats: Face to Face (F2F), Recorded Video Exam (RVE), or Live Video Exam (LVE). I-PATH supports members at every step, ensuring smooth progress.

Graded Exams start from Entry Level (Premiere and Debut - formerly known as Preparatory and Primary) and go up to Grade 8. After Grade 5, students can continue to higher grades or choose the Vocational Route in any of our dance disciplines, for a broader learning experience, which includes practical exams and a written project. This route has levels: Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, and Advanced 1.

Graded Achievement Awards (formerly known as Class Awards)

Class Awards will be replaced by Graded Achievement Awards in all dance disciplines. These awards will celebrate the achievement of completing a grade by presenting specified items from a grade.

For all other genres if students or teachers do not feel confident to undertake the full graded examination, we strongly recommend the undertaking of an achievement award.
