The medals and stars come in Bronze, Silver and Gold. Candidates are required to perform one performance piece from one of the discipline categories. This must be performed in either a classroom/studio/theatre with the candidate’s teacher present should they choose to be or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards. The candidate may perform solo or as part of a group of up to five children. In specific circumstances, I-PATH may agree for students to perform in larger groups. At this level, pieces should be slightly more challenging than what they did at Rosette Level.
Two performance pieces from one of the discipline categories must be performed (i.e. in Classical Dance it could be one ballet dance and one national dance), in either a classroom with the candidate’s teacher present should they choose to be or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards.
Three performance pieces from one of the discipline categories must be performed (i.e. in Musical Theatre the candidate could perform one ballad song, one upbeat song and one song and dance OR a candidate might perform three ballet routines), in either a classroom with the candidate’s teacher present should they choose to be or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards.

A Positive, Growth-Focused Approach
Assessment by Expert Examiners: Each Achievement Award is assessed by a qualified external examiner. The examiner’s role is to provide a report for every candidate. This report celebrates the candidate's accomplishments while also suggesting areas for further development.
100% Pass Rate - Fostering Confidence and Self-Esteem: The unique aspect of our Achievement Awards is their focus on positive growth rather than a pass/fail dynamic. Every participant successfully passes and is presented with an award and certificate. This approach ensures that the awards are instrumental in building confidence and self-esteem, rather than creating pressure.
Preparation for Graded Examinations: While these awards are non-competitive, they serve as an excellent stepping stone for students preparing for the more formal Graded Examinations that I-PATH offers, allowing them to develop their skills in a supportive environment.
Teacher’s Role in Setting Challenges: The complexity of each candidate’s performance piece is at the teacher’s discretion. It's encouraged to challenge students appropriately, ensuring continuous progression through the awards. While the criteria remain consistent from the Bronze Rosette to the Gold Star for example, it’s expected that candidates will display technical and performance growth throughout their journey, guided by their teacher's expertise.
Empowering Teachers, Encouraging Students: At I-PATH, we believe in the power of encouragement and positive reinforcement. The Achievement Awards are a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent at every step, with the teacher playing a crucial role in shaping the candidate's experience and growth.
Flexible and Inclusive Approach
At I-PATH, we believe in offering flexibility and inclusivity in our Achievement Awards. Here’s how we approach age criteria:
Guided, Not Restricted: Our syllabus includes a 'Guide Age' for each award, serving merely as a suggestion rather than a strict rule. This flexibility allows teachers and schools to tailor the awards to suit their students’ unique needs and abilities.
Adaptability for Schools: Different schools may have varying approaches to incorporating these awards. For instance, some may focus on progressing from Rosettes to the Founders Award, especially if they do not participate in Graded Exams. Others might choose to start younger students, like 5-year-olds, directly at Shield Level. The decision on how to incorporate these awards into the curriculum rests entirely with the school or the individual teacher.
Open to All Ages: A key aspect of our awards is their inclusivity. Teachers are encouraged to offer these awards to students of all ages, including adults. They provide a valuable goal to work towards and are a meaningful way to acknowledge achievement and milestones.
Celebrating Achievement at Every Age: At I-PATH, we firmly believe that no one is too old to be recognised and celebrated. Our Achievement Awards are designed to be a source of motivation and acknowledgment for learners of all ages, fostering a lifelong love for the performing arts.
Complimentary Membership with Student Participation: When you enter students for our Achievement Awards, as a teacher, you automatically qualify for a free I-PATH membership. This is our way of acknowledging and supporting your commitment to your students' growth in the performing arts.
Step 1: Request Your Booking Form: Start by emailing us at exams@i-path.org to request a Session Booking Form. This form is your first step towards scheduling your assessment session. Alternatively, fill in the webform in the Members Section.
Step 2: Complete and Return the Form: Fill out the form with the necessary details and email it back to our Head Office. Please ensure this is done at least 6 weeks before your desired assessment date.
Step 3: Date Confirmation: Once we receive your form, we'll work diligently to accommodate your preferred date. While we strive to meet your request, please note that this is subject to availability.
Budget Considerations:
Pre-Session Delivery of Awards and Certificates: When you submit your Achievement Award Session Booking Form to our Head Office, we promptly dispatch the awards directly to your chosen address – be it your home or school. For F2F, certificates and report forms are also sent to your chosen address. For LVE or RVE, certificates, and report forms will follow after the assessments have taken place.
Quality Check on Receipt: Upon receiving these items, it's essential to verify their accuracy and condition before the assessment day. Despite our careful packaging, there are rare instances where trophies may be damaged during transit.
Reporting Damages: In case of any breakages or discrepancies, please contact I-PATH Head Office immediately. We will replace any damaged items at no additional cost to you, and arrange for the collection of the broken awards.
Distribution of Awards: Typically for F2F, our examiner presents the awards and certificates at the end of the session or day. However, we understand that some schools prefer to organise their own Awards Evening. If that's your preference, just let us know, and we'll adapt to your plans. For RVE and LVE it's obviously up to the teacher to arrange their own presentation.
Access to I-PATH's Comprehensive Resources: At I-PATH, we are committed to supporting teachers in delivering our awards effectively. We offer a range of resources that can be seamlessly integrated into your teaching.
Utilise Our Graded Exam Material: Teachers are encouraged to use routines or combinations from our Graded Exams, all of which are readily accessible through the members' section on our website. This allows for a creative and diverse approach to teaching and preparing for the awards.
Explore Our Wealth of Free Resources: Our website is a treasure trove of free resources designed to aid teachers in their educational journey. From detailed guides to creative teaching materials, everything you need is just a click away.
Need More Assistance? If you require further help or specific information, our team is always ready to assist. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@i-path.org for any inquiries or support.
